This site was started in an attempt to give people a place to go when they lose or find a pet.

MD Lost Pets is based in Baltimore, MD. While on one of my many walks through the park with my dog, I decided there must be a better way for someone to find their lost pet. Almost every light post has a plea taped to it, for the safe return of a beloved dog or cat. There are only so many lamp posts you can plaster with fliers, and you can cover only so much of the city without completely exhausting your resources and time. In these case, time is of the essence, and getting your message to as many people is also a great help.

So, I decided to start this free service for people to use. The ultimate goal, albeit somewhat of a idealistic one, is for people to come directly to this site when they lose or find a pet. If that happened, pets and their people would be reunited in no time. While that goal may not be attainable in any near future, we will continue to be an available resource and try to get the word out about our free service.
